Septic Information

Septic Systems

Private Septic Systems are required by ordinance to be inspected and pumped once every 3 years to comply with State rules.  The proper management and maintenance is important to ensure resource protection and cost-effective sewage treatment.  Proper septic tank maintenance helps to protect the environment and helps maintain your SSTS investment.

All septic work needs to be done by a licensed septic professional.  The MPCA maintains a list of professionals that are licensed to install, inspected, design and pump/maintain septic systems.  Please have your septic professional complete a form and return the completed after each pumping to either City Hall front counter or email form to permits@daytonmn.gov
