Appointment Application to City Council
The City is accepting applications from community members interested in being appointed to the vacant seat on City Council. This is an opportunity to serve your community and help shape the future of our city. The appointed council member will serve the remaining term through 2028. The position will be filled and take office during the October 13, 2026 City Council meeting.
Applications are due October 7, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. (noon)
Interested residents are encouraged to complete the application and submit it by the deadline.If you have additional questions, please contact City Clerk/Assistant City Administrator, Amy Benting at abenting@daytonmn.gov.
The Dayton City Council regularly meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and are held at Dayton City Hall. Please contact Zach Doud, City Administrator, at (763)323-4010 or email zdoud@daytonmn.gov for more information related to City Council. The agenda packets and meeting minutes are available to view online or at City Hall.
If you would like to be included in the distribution of the Council packet, please email abenting@daytonmn.gov and request to be added to the Council Packets. Packets will be distributed via email on the Thursday before the Council meeting. If you wish to be removed from the distribution list, you may request removal using the same method.

During this webinar you will be able to raise your hand and when the Mayor allows we will give you the opportunity to speak.
