Solicitors & Peddlers Application
Peddlers and Solicitors traveling door-to-door are required to be licensed by the City.
- They must wear their city-issued badge when conducting business.
- Background checks are completed on each applicant.
- Per City ordinance, solicitation is allowed from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Solicitation is not allowed until approved and ID badges have been issued.
- Unlicensed solicitors may face a fine of up to $250 and/or have their future applications denied immediately.

Report Unlicensed Solicitors: Residents may call the non-emergency police dispatch line at (952)258-5321 or 911 to report anyone going door-to-door without a license. Any resident of the city who wishes to exclude peddlers from the residents premises may place near the usual entrance to the premises a printed placard or sign bearing the following notice "Peddler's Prohibited". The placard will be at least three and three-fourths inches long and three and three- fourths inches wide and the printing will not be smaller than 48 point type. No person other than the person occupying the premises may remove, injure or deface such a placard. Residents may purchase a sign, make their own, or print and post the pdf offered below.
