Solicitors & Peddlers Application

• They must wear their city-issued badge when conducting business.
• Background checks are completed on each applicant.
• Per City ordinance, solicitation is allowed from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Solicitation is not allowed until approved and ID badges have been issued.
• Unlicensed solicitors may face a fine of up to $250 and/or have their future applications denied immediately.

Report Unlicensed Solicitors: Residents may call the non-emergency police dispatch line at (952)258-5321 or 911 to report anyone going door-to-door without a license. Any resident of the city who wishes to exclude peddlers from the residents premises may place near the usual entrance to the premises a printed placard or sign bearing the following notice "Peddler's Prohibited".  The placard will be at least three and three-fourths inches long and three and three- fourths inches wide and the printing will not be smaller than 48 point type. No person other than the person occupying the premises may remove, injure or deface such a placard.  Residents may purchase a sign, make their own, or print and post the pdf offered below.

Please complete the application in its entirety.  The application, supporting documents, photo identification and fees must be submitted prior to the City taking action on the request.  Please allow 7-10 business days for processing each application. Fees per applicant:
Application Fee: $35 non-refundable
Weekly Fee: $30
Monthly Fee: $65
Yearly Fee: $300

Transaction fees will apply to all credit and debit card payments. The per transaction fees will be 2.95% with a minimum fee of $1.95. The fee is collected directly by the card processor and not the City. If you would like to avoid fees, please submit check to City Hall.
