Request Fire Education or Community Outreach

One way the Dayton Fire Department serves our community is by providing fire prevention education for our residents.  The Dayton Fire Department has partnered with Dayton Elementary, public and private preschools and local daycares for years, educating our youngest population about fire safety.

Residents can request a member of the Dayton Fire Department be present for an event, or request a tour of the fire department.  Residents can also request assistance from the fire department with installing battery operated smoke detectors and CO detectors, and fire extinguishers. Burn Permits

Recreational fire are allowed in Dayton.  You must obtain a burn permit for any fire larger than 3′ x 3′.  Permits and regulations are available at City Hall, or can be found by clicking button below.

To complete and submit your application, please follow these steps:
  • Download: Click the link for your desired permit. The form will download automatically.
  • Save: Save the PDF file to a location on your computer.
  • Open: Navigate to the saved file on your device and open it with a PDF application (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader) for optimal performance. Do not open the form directly in your web browser, as this will prevent the submit function from working correctly.
  • Permit will not be issued until it is approved and payment has been received. 

 You may also print and send applications to the city hall.  Burn permits have a $50.00 fee.  Checks can be made to the City of Dayton.  Thank you for helping us keep our city and our environment safe for all.

Pool Filling

The Dayton Fire Department is unable to fill private swimming pools. We recommend Dayton residents call a private water delivery company that can provide clear, chlorinated water free of equipment-damaging rust and minerals – one that is specifically designed for swimming pools.  Have a fun and safe swimming season!
