Third Annual Medallion Hunt

The City of Dayton invites you to participate in the Third Annual Winter Medallion Hunt—a fun, family-friendly event exploring Dayton in search of a hidden medallion piece. Gather your family, friends, or partner and join the hunt for a chance to win an exciting prize package.

How It Works

Each day for up to one week—or until the medallion is found—a new clue will be released at 9:00 a.m., starting on Monday, February 2nd. Clues will be available at the following locations:

  • Posted on the front door of Dayton City Hall (12260 S. Diamond Lake Road)

  • On the City’s website

  • On the City’s official Facebook and Instagram pages: @mncityofdayton

  • Through the City of Dayton app

Contest Guidelines & Rules

  • The medallion will be hidden on public property within the City of Dayton.

  • No digging, climbing, or disassembling of park equipment is necessary.

  • The medallion is not buried, not located in water, and not on private property.

  • Participants must not deface public property or break any laws. Park hours are from sunrise to sunset.

  • City of Dayton employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

  • Participants assume all personal risk associated with the search.

Found the Medallion?

If you locate the medallion, please email kmontgomery@daytonmn.gov with the time, location, and a photo of you with the medallion.

If the medallion is not found by sunset on Saturday, February 7th, the hunt will conclude, and the prize will be awarded at a future City event.

We encourage everyone to participate safely and have fun exploring Dayton!
