The City is launching a pilot “Adopt-a-Road” program in Dayton aimed at engaging the community in maintaining clean, litter-free roadways.  The program will launch on Saturday, May 2nd in conjunction with the City of Dayton clean-up day.  The details for this pilot program are as follows:
  • Road segments available for adoption are typically two miles in length.  A list of available routes is provided below.
  • Please select your top 3 preferred routes from the list,  indicate the estimated number of participants in your group and email this information to Public Works Director, Martin Farrell at mfarrell@daytonmn.gov
  • The City will provide safety vests and garbage bags for all participants.
  • Each participant will need to sign a waiver of liability.  This will be shared with you after we receive an email indicating your interest.
  • As a token of appreciation for participating in this pilot Adopt-a-Road program, each member of the group will receive a Dairy Queen gift card or coupon. The City will distribute gift cards or coupons the following Tuesday (May 5) after the Public Works team has collected the filled garbage bags from the roadside as verification of completed work.
  • Please note that this is a pilot program to gauge interest run by City Council to assess community interest.  At this time, participation requires a one-time commitment.

  2. South Diamond Lake Rd from Zanzibar to Sharp Corner at Diamond Lake 
  3. South Diamond Lake Rd from Sharp Corner to Border 
  4. Zanzibar from 125th Ave to South Diamond Lake Rd
  5. Zanzibar from South Diamond Lake Rd to North Diamond Lake Rd 
  6. 117th Ave from E French Lake Rd to Brayburn Trail
  7. 117th  Ave from Brayburn Trail to Fernbrook Lane
  8. 117th Ave/W French Lake Rd from E French Lake Rd to 121st Ave 
  9. W French Lake Rd from 121st Ave to Border/Brockton
  10. 125th Ave from E French Lake Rd to Zanzibar Lane
  11. 125th Ave from Zanzibar Lane to Fernbrook Lane
  12. Lawndale Lane from N Diamond Lake Rd to 149th Ave
  13. Lawndale Lane from 149th Ave to Dayton River Road
  14. E French Lake from 125th Ave to 117th Ave
