How to contact an officer

For emergencies Call 911 for any situation that requires an immediate response from police, fire, or medical services.

For non-emergency service Call (952) 258-5321 (24/7 Dispatch) to file a report, speak with an officer, or report an incident that is not an emergency. This line is answered by a dispatcher 24 hours a day.

For administrative questions Call (763) 427-2017 for general questions that do not require an officer's presence or a report. This includes inquiries such as requesting a copy of a police report.

Note: The Dayton Police Department office is not staffed 24/7. Calling this administrative line after business hours or leaving a voicemail may result in a delayed response. For urgent matters, always use the 24/7 dispatch number or 911.
