Snow Plow & Street Parking Policy
Parking Regulations
Parking is prohibited on city streets after a 2-inch snowfall. This includes those with parking permits. Parking may not resume on the street until it has been plowed curb-to-curb. Violators may be towed. In addition, Parking on streets in the City of Dayton is prohibited between the hours of 2 am and 6 am without a permit. In the City of Dayton, snowfall of 2 inches or more will trigger a snow event. Staff have established an order of priority, to use the staff and resources available most efficiently and effectively to us, and to allow emergency services to operate and to allow residents to get to and from their homes.
Instances where Public Works will perform snow removal:
- Snow accumulation of 2 inches or more
- Drifting of snow that causes problems for travel
- Icy conditions which seriously affect travel
- Time of snowfall in relationship to heavy use streets
