Citizen Commendation/Complaint regarding Officer

If you wish to commend a Dayton Police Officer for something positive they did, you have several options:

  • Commendation: Complete and sign the commendation section of the form available on the City of Dayton MN website and send it via mail or in person to the Police Department at 13700 Zanzibar Lane, Dayton, MN 55327.

  • Phone Call: Call the Police Department office at (763)427-2017 and ask to speak with a supervisor to share your commendation.
  • Write a Letter: Write a letter outlining your positive experience and expressing your appreciation to the Chief of Police at the Dayton Police Department. Include details like the date, time, location, and the nature of the incident if known, even if you don't know the officer's name. This can be filed in the officer's personnel folder and may be considered during promotions.
